Energy

The world is facing an energy crisis, since we transitioned from animal powered agrarian lifestyle several centuries ago, fossil fuels have been the de-facto source of energy for a very long time now. they have been relied on for many centuries, they sparked the industrial revolution and the invention of many technologies we see today. lets take for instance oil, it has so many uses that our modern day lifestyle is nearly impossible without it. it’s oil that fuels our cars, gives us the warmth we need in our homes, and through plastics, it’s needed in the making of nearly all household items.

Fossil fuels however have come up with really detrimental impacts on the environment, plastic pollution is chocking marine wildlife, everywhere you go, you see mountains of plastic all over the place, oil as well as other fossil fuels use has contributed to the extinction of countless precious animal, birds. insects and marine species, living creatures that we can never bring back to life again.

human life is being threatened as well, today we are facing natural disasters of catastrophic proportions, prolonged droughts, hurricanes. tornadoes and floods have become more frequent and more extreme, all these are happening due to the fact that climatic change is directly impacting our human way of life.

global warming is causing record high temperatures in many parts of the world and extreme heat is becoming an everyday reality in our lives. in some places, the daily temperatures rise to a whooping fifty five degrees Celsius, that is hot enough to fry an egg in an open oven. rain patterns are becoming irregular causing crops to fail and threatening the food security of many hundreds of millions of people all over the globe. now that it has become a real threat, people are paying attention to the issues concerning the environment now. thanks to the efforts of young environmental activists like Greta Thunberg and her ”Extinction Rebellion” protestors, governments and NGOs are scrambling to find ways to use alternative sources of energy.

Renewable energy has always been there for many decades, it’s just that not enough effort and investment had been put into it to make it economical enough for the world to use, but now the world truly understands how important renewable energy is. vast financial resources are now being poured into wind, solar, geothermal, hydroelectric, tidal energy, nuclear, and other forms of renewables, its not too late to save the planet, if the world is consistent with going green in renewable,
